divide by 2 and bring constant to the right side

x^2 - 3x + .... = 18
x^2 - 3x + 9/4 = 18 + 9/4
(x - 3/2)^2 = 81/4
x - 3/2 = ± 9/2
x = 3/2 ± 9/2
x = -3 or x = 6
