"Yearnings"
The slab of clay before me, lifeless and lacking ambition, refuses to be molded. "Shape your dreams!" The art teacher says. "Let your hands talk to your hearts!" Nothing- Just unshaped dreams, silent hands, and hardening clay on a painted-streaked table. No directions, no picture, no plot- no grade. So forget about books, laborious numbers and Magellan, empty hallways, ad tardy slips with dim looks. Forget what you know; explore a different shore. Take a breath and fly against the emerging sun. "what are you making?" The art teacher asks. "I see wings." I agree "Yeah, me too."
