I also believe #2 is wrong.
The Comp of 1850 dealt with 5 major probs:
1) Cali
2) Texas
3) Terr. from the Mex. Cession
4) Fugitive Slave Law
5) Slave trade in DC
Results:
1) Cali became a free state
2) TX's borders became more defined
3) slavery in the terr. were to be decided by popular sovereignty
4) fugitive slave law is toughened and more strict
5) slave trade in DC is abolished
I agree w/ Reed that #5 is wrong.
In the Dred Scott case, Roger Taney made an important statement at the conclusion of the trial. He stated that "blacks are an inferior and subordinate race," and therefore, they had "no rights or privileges of a citizen," including the right to sue.***
