A fully equipped astronaut has a mass of 170 kg. If the astronaut has a weight of 675 N standing on the surface of a planet, what is the acceleration due to gravity on this planet?

weught= mass*g

where g is gravitational field strength

g=weight/mass

Now it turns out, gravitational field strength in Newtons/kg IS EQUAL to the acceleration of a mass in that field, in meters/sec^2

so acceleration= weight/mass
