When 3 resistors of 1 ohm resistance each are connected in series to a 12 volt power supply, the total resistance of the circuit is _______ ohms.

I really appreciate any help with this stuff - it's difficult for me! Thanks

The combined resistance of resistors connected in series is the sum of their resistances. Just add the three resistances.

That's right. 1 + 1 + 1 = __ ohms

The voltage doesn't matter.

To find the total resistance of the circuit when three resistors are connected in series, you need to add the individual resistances together.

In this case, each resistor has a resistance of 1 ohm. So when you connect them in series, you add up the resistances:

Total Resistance = Resistance of Resistor 1 + Resistance of Resistor 2 + Resistance of Resistor 3

Total Resistance = 1 ohm + 1 ohm + 1 ohm

Total Resistance = 3 ohms

Therefore, the total resistance of the circuit is 3 ohms.

I hope that explanation helps! Do you have any other questions?
