Answered by Ms. Sue
The common denominator is 25.

25 divided by 5 = 5

5 * 2 = 10

2/5 = 10/25

10/25 + 11/25 = ?

Add the numerators.

you need a common denominator. you can use 25 because it is a multiple of 5. To turn the denominator, which is 5, into 25 you have to multiply it with 5. however, then you must also multiply the numerator:

2/5 x 5/5 = 10/25

10/25 + 11/25 = ____
