One square has an area of 64 inches. The total area of the room is 14x20=280 feet times 12= 3360 inches. 3360/64= 52.5 tiles. It will take approximately 53 tiles to cover the deck.

let's change the room dimensions to inches
14 ft by 20 ft = 168 in by 240 in
We can fit 21 tiles along the 168 inches side
We can fit 30 tiles along the 240 inches side
number of tiles = 21 x 30 or 630 tiles.
The solution by Brilliant was not so brilliant, it is wrong
Brilliant's way should have been
area of room = 280 square ft
= 280(144) or 40320 square inches
each tile takes 64 square inches
number of tiles = 40320/64 = 630 tiles
14 ft by 20 ft = 168 in by 240 in
We can fit 21 tiles along the 168 inches side
We can fit 30 tiles along the 240 inches side
number of tiles = 21 x 30 or 630 tiles.
