Debra received her £15 pocket money.
She spent:
1/3 on magazines
2/5 on a necklace
How much did she have left?
My answer
1/3 of 15 is 5
2/5 of 5 is 2
2 pound is left
Am I correct?

I disagree with your reasoning.
I read it that she spent 2/5 of her pocket money on a necklace
so she spent 6 on a necklace
So far she has spent 5 + 6 or 11
leaving her with £ 4
or
1/3 + 2/5 = 11/15 leaving 4/15
(4/15)(15) = 4
