Remember this, The bigger the number in negatives, the smaller the number actually is. So it would be, -4, -1, 0, +2, and +3
10 - 7 = 3. All you have to do is take the number that is IN the equation (do the opposite operation than what it says) and (for this one) subtract it by the number that the equation is equal to.
Tell her you add up all the (known) sides and take 27 and subtract the sum of the known sides. That will show the (unknown) side. :)
