Write the expression as a logarithm of a single quantity. (4marks)

A)3log5a + 4log5b - 2log5c

B)3log2 -1/3log(x^2-1)

1 answer

regardless of base,
3log(a) + 4log(b) - 2log(c)
= log(a^3) + log(b^4) - log(c^2)
= log(a^3b^4/c^2)

3log2 - 1/3 log(x^2-1)
= log(2^3) - log(x^2-1)^(1/3)
= log[8/(x^2-1)^1/3]
