I think the answer is either a or b.

I think A is the answer although it isn't stated very well. It also acts as a galvanic cell for everything else it runs in the car including starting the engine etc.

I didn't choose B because when it is being recharged by the alternator in the car it is acting as an electrolytic cell; i.e., it isn't running anything so it isn't acting as a galvanic cell.
