Which of the following passages from the Cay best illustrates Philip's determination?

A. Wondering what had caused the birds to attack me, I felt around the sand
B. I realized then why he had used our rope sparingly; why he made our guideline down to east beach from vines instead of rope*****
C. There was no day or night that passed when I didn't listen for sounds from the sky
D. I had two more matches left, and for a moment, I didn't know whether to use them or run back up the hill to the campfire.

I think its B, but do you think it is? Let me know, and if you agree with my answer.

I don't think so. Realizing why Timothy used the rope so sparingly means he is figuring out that Timothy was wise, not a stupid black man. It's an important thing for Philip to learn, but it doesn't demonstrate determination, does it? Rethink.
Ok so is it D Reed?
