Teacher goes to college library and checks out five books on effective teaching techniques, and five on the same subject for the specific content. Then read them.

This would be answered by experience. Have you had any experience in this area? The answer could depend upon the subject area. For example, I taught foreign language and used that language exclusively in the classroom. This was "total immersion" and I called it "survival language." It was most effective, especially if the students didn't bail out immediately!
