x^2 - 6 x + 4 = y
subtract 4 from both sides
x^2 - 6 x = y-4
square half of 6 which is 3^2=9
add 9 to both sides
x^2 - 6 x + 9 = y + 5
factor left, perfect square now
(x-3)^2 = y + 5
vertex at (3 , -5)
What is the vertex of this equation? y=x^2-6x+4. Please show the steps on how you got the answer so i can understand it better.
