What is a scholarly article and how can i find one about the importance of religion in the 1600's, or around the time of Shakespeare.

thanks but i don't have to write one i have to find 1 about the religion, like i know scholarly articles are written by experts about a certain subject but how do i find one an article by experts on religion? by the way last time i used a website my teacher said it wasn't a scholarly article so i don't know :(
Here are two ways to find scholarly artlcles, online or off:

1. Use Google Scholar: http://scholar.google.com

2. In addition to searching on the Internet, you also need to make best friends with the reference librarian(s) in your local or college library. Libraries these days subscribe to enormous research databases, and they are often more useful than Internet searches. Ask your librarian if you have access to EBSCOHost -- it has several databases within it, including at least one huge database for academic research.
