What impact did Christianity have on Roman society?

I have read my book like 12 times and all I can find it how it spread. Nothing about the impact. Any information would be helpful.

This should help. There were major conflicts over which religion was "right", the old pantheon of Roman "gods" and the new ideas of Christianity. The Emperor put it to rest by embracing Christianity just to settle the dispute and conflict.
