What do you think about this aricle? Can I get some of your ideas?

Indoctrinated in belief

The statistics in "Darwin's sin" (Feb. 8), which indicate only half of Americans believe in evolution, are sad. Evolution is proven based on fact, scientific study and evidence accepted by all but a small handful of scientists today, and it forms basis of biology. How sad that beliefs, not based on fact or evidence and that cannot be prove, form an opposition that keeps half of the country ignorant.
Too many of our children are not being educated but indoctrinated in "belief," and the rest of the world scratches its head. Evolution was furthered by Darwin, but many others contributed before and after. Scientific evidence today points only to the conrrectness of this principle.
We must end the tolerance of this brain drain and insist on the real educaton of our children and the correct teaching of science in all the schools.

Please someone help I need to write these 4 paragraphs
I think the article is right on.
Evolution is based on fact and can be scientifically supported. I think perhaps the statistics quoted in the article may be a bit skewed to the negative; but remember that only a small percentage of the people in the US are actually college educated. This may have something to do with the problem.
The point of the assignment is that YOU need to THINK and then write what YOU BELIEVE this is saying.

I'd have a lot of questions actually.

The statistics in "Darwin's sin" (Feb. 8), which indicate only half of Americans believe in evolution, are sad. Who came up with the statistics? How can you learn whether they are correct or not? Who decided this was "sad"?

Evolution is proven based on fact, scientific study and evidence accepted by all but a small handful of scientists today, and it forms basis of biology. What are the real numbers? Who or exactly how many are the "small handful"?

How sad that beliefs, not based on fact or evidence and that cannot be prove, form an opposition that keeps half of the country ignorant. Again here's "sad" - what does this really mean? And "keeps half the country ignorant" -- what is this really saying? How did someone come up with "half the country"? Who does this person think that "half" includes, and what does this person think they believe?

Too many of our children are not being educated but indoctrinated in "belief," and the rest of the world scratches its head. How many are "too many"? What is the indoctrination all about? And then there's "the rest of the world" -- is this saying that "belief" only occurs in the United States? Do you really believe that?

Evolution was furthered by Darwin, but many others contributed before and after. Names are needed here; Darwin and who else?

Scientific evidence today points only to the correctness of this principle. Where's the absolute proof of this if not every scientist agrees?

We must end the tolerance of this brain drain and insist on the real educaton of our children and the correct teaching of science in all the schools. Who are "We"? What is meant by "brain drain"? Who determines what the "correct teaching of science" is? What role do school boards have in all this?

And on and on ...

Critical thinking means that you need to ask questions, not simply accept something as true just because it's in print!
Kudos to you, GuruBlue! Writeacher, are you a creationist or a proponent of Intelligent Design or a creation scientist or a transformist or some other close variation of any of these that all boils down to mtyhology anyway by any chance . . .
