since 10=2*5 any two numbers close to 2 and 5 will produce a product near 10. One should be slightly greater, and the other, slightly smaller

say, 1.9 and 5.1 or 2.1 and 4.9

Joey's numbers also work, but are less obvious. They are near 2.5 and 4 since 2.5 * 4 = 10
