Just multiply term by term, just as you do with a multi-digit number:

124* 327 = 100(300+20+7) + 20(300+20+7) + 4(300+20+7)

(x^3 + 2x^2 - 2)(x^3 - 3x + 3)
= x^3(x^3 - 3x + 3) + 2x^2(x^3 - 3x + 3) - 2(x^3 - 3x + 3)

= x^6 - 3x^4 + 3x^3 + 2x^5 - 6x^3 + 6x^2 - 2x^3 + 6x - 6

= x^6 + 2x^5 - 3x^4 - 5x^3 + 6x^2 + 12x - 6
Ahem. Make that + 6x
thanks :)
