Use of a OR an.

Question

It is ccorrect to say/or write

"a Royal Yachting Association course..."

But if we choose to abbreviate to RYA is it correct to use:

"a RYA ...."

OR

"an RYA ...."

I'd use "a" when it's all written out, and "an" when it's abbreviated.
