P P'(–8, –3) for the glide reflection where the translation is (x, y) (x –2, y –5) and the line of reflection is y = –x. Find the coordinates of P

1 answer

If you're looking for the original P which ends up at P', then consider the reflection.

A point (x,y) reflected around the line y = -x becomes (-y,-x). So, the point that was reflected and ended up at (-8,-3) was (3,8).

The point that was translated and ended up at (3,8) was (5,13).

So, P = (5,13)

Anyone more expert in this care to adjust my logic?
