The table below shows some physical properties of two unknown samples.

Physical Properties
Sample Mass Boiling Point
X 100 g 56 °C
Y 290 56 °C

What would best support whether the two samples are of the same substance or not?
the two substance are the same because their intensive property is the same

Yes, a cup of water boils at the same temperature as a pan of water.
There may be several compounds with the same boiling point. I would want to do a melting (freezing point) determination. If the m.p. was the same
it wouldn't prove the two were the same but likely they were the same. The probability that the two are the same increases with the number of physical properties that are the same.
Solid
What does it mean when something is solid?
solid, one of the three basic states of matter, the others being liquid and gas. (Sometimes plasmas, or ionized gases, are considered a fourth state of matter.) A solid forms from liquid or gas because the energy of atoms decreases when the atoms take up a relatively ordered, three-dimensional structure.
