The store is selling lemons at $0.33 each. Each lemon yields about 2 tablespoons of juice. How much will it cost to buy enough lemons to make four 9-inch lemon pies, each requiring half a cup of lemon juice?

The first time I tried it, it was 1.32 then i try again and it was 2.64 but both of em were wrong, what did i go wrong?

4 pies each needing 1/2 cup of lemon juice
---> we need 2 cups of lemon juice.

I have no idea how many "tablespoons" are in a cup, look that up, find out how many tablespoons you need.

Remember, you would not be able to buy a partial lemon, so you have to go to the next whole number, e.g. if you needed 4.1 lemons you would still have to buy 5 lemons.
16 tablespoons = 1 cup

using 4.5 cups = 72 tablespoons

72 * $.33 = $23.76
Forgot that each lemon gives 2 tablespoons.

72/2 = 36 lemons

36 * $.33 = $11.88
We only want 4 pies, the fact that they are 9 inches is irrelevant.

each pie needs 1/2 cup of juice, so we need
2 cups
= 32 tablespoons

each lemon produces 2 tablespoons, so we need
16 lemons.
cost = 16($.33)= $5.28
Reiny is right. I apologize for a double goof.
