P = Perimeter

W = Width

L = Length

P = 2 W + 2 L

36 = 2 * 4 + 2 L

36 = 8 + 2 L Subtract 8 to both sides

36 - 8 = 8 + 2 L - 8

28 = 2 L Divide both sides by 2

28 / 2 = 2 L / 2

14 = L

L = 14 in
never mind -worked it out!!
