50*50*50 because 0-49 (COUNTING 0) is 50. then, multiply 50 times the amount of times you rotate the lock

All I know is that you do 50x50x50 because 0-49 is 50 since you count 0. You do 50•50•50 because you rotate the lock that many times each. Thus making 125,000

The actual answer is 150. You have 50 possible numbers to work with from 0-49 (49+1 inclusive). Since there is three possible directions to go, you multiple 50 by 3 to get 150 possible ways.

For a 0-49 lock you have to do 50*50*50=125,000. It is 50 and not 49 because you have 49(1-49),but you also have 0.(49+1+50)

You do 50 x 50 x 50, because it includes 0. A common mistake is to do 49 x 49 x 49, which seems right, but in reality does not count zero, so is incorrect

50*50*50 because there are 50 options for the first number and 50 for the 2nd and 3rd number, so you multiply them to get 125,000.

Rule of Multiplication If events A and B come from the same sample space, the probability that both A and B occur is equal to the probability the event A occurs times the probability that B occurs, given that A has occurred.
P(A ∩ B) = P(A) P(B|A)
Therefore you have 50 *50*50 = 125,000
P(A ∩ B) = P(A) P(B|A)
Therefore you have 50 *50*50 = 125,000
