a1 = 2 d

nth term of the A.P:

an = a1 + ( n - 1 ) d

a5 = a1 + ( 5 - 1 ) d

a5 = a1 + 4 d

Since a1 = 2 d

a5 = a1 + 4 d = 2 d + 4 d = 6 d
