Suppose that a graphing calculator is programming to generate a random natural number between 1 and 10 inclusive . What is the probability that the number will be prime?

2 answers

the primes in that range are:
2,3,5, and 7

Assuming it is a true random generator, the prob would be 4/10 or 2/5
there are 4 prime numbers between 1 to 10. 2,3,5,7
So, the probability = 4/10 = 0.4
