So if Wei’s mark on a test was 39. This

mark was 60%. What was the total
possible mark?

3 answers

x = total possible mark

60% = 60 / 100

Proportion:

39 / x = 60 / 100

Cross multiply

39 • 100 = x • 60

3900 = 60 x

x = 3900 / 60 = 65
.6x= 39
x = 39/.6 = 65
Thank you both this helps a lot!
