2x^2-2 = 2(x-1)(x+1)
2x^2-8x+6 = 2(x-1)(x-3)
Now rewrite your fractions with the factors, put all over a common denominator of 2(x-1)(x+1)(x-3) and simplify the numerator. Probably something will cancel out.
