Question #1: Which of the following best describes the combination of tradition and modernity in the region?

a. a female doctor wearing an hajib
b. a male banker driving a female relative
c. two women praying together in their home
d. a group of men praying together at a mosque

I haven't heard of the word hajib, I know the word hijab. Anyways, I really need help with this one since I'm really confused.

Question #2: How do the monarchies throughout Arabia and Iraq most differ from one another?

a. They have different constitutions
b. They have different elections processes
c. Some have absolute power, and some have limited power
d. Some are family dynasties, and some are trival.

According to what I have studied Saudi Arabia and some other states are absolute monarchies, or states in which the ruler controls the government alone.

Other countries have written constitutions that limit the king's power. These countries are constitutional monarchies. So I think the answer is C.

I'm working on a quiz so I may need help later.

Thank You

I think you are correct on #2. And you observe "hijab" is misspelled in the question. Modernity might be the female physician, while the hijab represents the old/traditional ways.
Since question 1 is about both tradition and modernity, the answer must be A. Women have only been allowed to be doctors recently.

I don't know whether 2 is C or D. The word is probably tribal. Check your text.
This is what the textbook says: "Despite the pull of global culture, tradition still shapes the lives of men and especially women in this region. The most restricted country is Saudi Arabia, where women are forbidden to drive cars or ride bicycle. They cannot legally meet with unrelated men in public.

However, attitudes are changing. In some countries, such as Iraq, women are free to work outside the home. Some can dress as they wish. Even in Saudi Arabia, women are finding ways to pursue careers."
I studied more and I just found the answer to question 1, yay.
I just found the answer to both questions, yay.
