I don't understand what this question means from the story and I need to know it so that I can do my essay.
Does that mean a remote and probably dangerous place?
Well the story is about the author's experiences in the jungle (the Amazon) and how it's so beautiful to her, like home but with dangerous situations like weather conditions and wild animals. It's also asking what might be her purpose in describing both violent and peaceful scenes and how she reacts to it. So it is probably about a dangerous place, yet it's so peaceful to her.
