If Macbeth were able to overcome this darker impulse and indulge a higher intention, the story would have a completely different outcome. Instead of descending into madness and committing more murders to secure his reign, Macbeth could have pursued a path of honor and loyalty. He could have used his skills and bravery for the good of his country, rather than causing chaos and destruction.
