Okay so i have a few questions, because I have a report to do I'm just not very good with writing out what i'm thinking.

Africa and AIDS/HIV

1.) How does this issue affect the well-being of the people that live within the region?

2.) How have leaders of the nation/region responded to the issue? What are the advantages and disadvantages of their actions?

3.) How have individual citizens of the region responded to the issue? How have organizations or activists responded to the issue?

4.) How does this issue affect other nations of the world? What roles has the international community played in this issue?

When you're doing all your reading -- and, yes, Reed's advice to read a lot is VERY good advice! -- you'll need to PLAN (plan = outline) what you'll write before you actually start writing.

Follow the writing process, whether you're writing a paragraph, an essay, or a research paper:

Prewriting: Brainstorm, research, plan, outline, thesis statement

Writing: Write first draft by starting with section II of your outline; write the introduction after the body of the paper is written; write the conclusion last.

Polishing: Revise, concentrating first on the body of the paper, then the intro, then the concl (revision = making sure ideas are logical and sequential and support your thesis); proofread (spelling, grammar, usage, etc.)

Make sure you have a thesis statement drafted. Make sure you do sufficient research. Make sure you write an outline. THEN you'll be ready to start writing.
