Let f(x)=ln(3x^(2)-2x-4). Find the domain.

1 answer

You can not take the log of a negative number or zero so where is that parabola negative?

find the zeros, it is an upright parabola (holds water) so everything between the zeros including the zeros is out of our domain.

y = 3 x^2 -2 x - 4
y = (3x+2)(x-2)
zeros at x = -2/3 and +2
-2/3 >/= x >/= +2
