----------------OK WHAT I THINK:
The example seems easy...but I can't make up the rest...

batter is a type of hitting? & break is
a time of sound?

ahhh not sure??? :0/
Your answer about batter and break is correct...now which other one has something that breaks something else.

Clasp holds a necklace....which other sentence has something that holds.
Frankly, they don't make sense to me either.

1. shatter = break (they are synonyms for each other -- http://www.thesaurus.com )
I see no synonyms among your choices, however.

2. A clasp holds a necklace together, but I don't see any such relationship between any of the choices for this one either.

Who made these up?
A clasp holds a necklace around a person.... a buckle holds a person in a seat
This is exactly as it shows on the work sheet.

I can't figure it out.
1. Shatter is to break

b. batter is to stake

Shatter is to batter ( they have the same sounds

as break is to stake ( they have the same sounds.
Shatter and Break have the same sound
as batter and stake.

I'd go with B on that one.

That's the best I can come up with!
they have the same sound...but what to i write for the analogy???
batter is a type of ________as stake is type of______________

buckle is a type of__________as seat is a type of _____________
