Jim buys a bike that is on sale for 25% off the original price. The original price is $120 more than the sale price. What is the original price of the bike?

sale price is .75 the original price. so,
.75p + 120 = p

or, the discount is the difference in prices.
.25p = 120
Sale price = $X.
Original price = x + 120.

x = 0.75(x+120).
x = 0.75x + 90,
0.25x = 90,
X = $360.
x + 120 = 360 + 120 = $480 = original price.
