Throughout my time at UFS, I have experienced profound personal growth, particularly in my leadership abilities. I once grappled with the fear of public speaking, often feeling overwhelmed and inadequately prepared when tasked with addressing my peers. However, through the university’s commitment to fostering graduate attributes such as effective communication and teamwork, I gradually transformed my anxiety into confidence. Engaging in group projects and taking advantage of opportunities like mentorship programs helped me refine my speaking skills in a supportive environment. Each presentation became a stepping stone, and with each experience, I learned not just to speak, but to connect with my audience—to share ideas, inspire others, and create meaningful dialogues. Looking back, I am deeply grateful for the challenges I faced; they were essential in shaping me into a leader who embraces vulnerability and values collaboration. This journey has not only strengthened my public speaking abilities but has also deepened my understanding of the impact that authentic leadership can have on a community.
