II know this might be lame, but I have to write 6-7 oage a research paper. How do I decide what topic to write on? Once I have a topic, I can usually run with it, but the decision of the topic sometimes takes up more time than I can to spend.

Make a list of your interests and pick which one is your main interest. This will make the research more enjoyable and make it much easier to write a long paper about it.
