x^2 + y^2 = 4 cos^2(A+B)/2 sin^2(A-B)/2 + 4 cos^2(A+B)/2 cos^2(A-B)/2
= 4 cos^2(A+B)/2 (sin^2(A-B)/2 + cos^2(A-B)/2)
= 4 cos^2(A+B)/2
= 4/sec^2(A+B)/2
= 4/(1 + tan^2(A+B)/2)

(1 + tan^2(A+B)/2)/4 = x^2 + y^2
