If a fuel storage tank is 35 percent full when there are 28 gallons in it, how many gallons can be held when the tank is full to capacity?

7 answers

we know that
applying a rule of three
If a fuel storage tank is 35 %percent full when ------> there are 280 gallons
with 100%------------------------------------------------> x
280/35=x/100
x=100*280/35---> x=800 gal
full tank ---- x gallons
.35x = 28
x = 28/.35 = 80 gallons
i was not sure if forgot the 0 at the end or not so i just gave the answer with the 0 if the ? did not require a 0 just take the 0 away at the end
well, is 80 = 800 ??
does 800 seem like a logical answer ?
well sorry i was just trying to help wen i google the answer all the other sites have 800
trust me:

35% of 80
= 35/100*80 = 28

35% of 800
= 35/100*800 = 280 , so 800 is incorrect
dude all you have to do is take away the 0 at the end so chill not that serious

SORRY FOR THE CONFUSMENT BUT BOTH ARE CORRECT DEPENDING ON THE ?
