If 13.4kj of energy is added to 1.0kg of ice at 0 degrees Celsius. How much water was produced and how much ice was left?

1 answer

Look up the heat fusion of ice @ 0 Celsius. I don't remember but I think it is about 300 J/g ice. I could look it up but you should have put it in the problem. Look it up and use that number.
300 J/g x #g = 13,400 J
#g = grams ice melted
1,000 g ice initially - grams melted = grams ice remaining.
