I would say it's E. None of the above as
A: is not true. Maria did love him
B: is not true. I think he enjoyed his job. Besides, his job has nothing to do with his problem.
C. The story had never talked about his parents
D. I don't think he had tried to remove himself from the gang.

2. Is West Side Story a tragedy?
I would say yes, it's a tragedy as at the end, Tony got killed by Chino, and it is a story based on the tragedy, Romeo and Juliet.
