I need to write a paragraph about something that happened during my childhood, and so I decided to write about when I was 10 and ran through the sliding glass door like an idiot. But I don't know much hospital/injury vocabulary and my french isn't perfect either so would someone mind checking my work? Merci!!!
English: When I was 10 years old, I experienced the most tragic event of my life. One day during the summer,I was outside with my brother. It was late, so at 8:00 we decided to go inside. I ran to the door, but I didn't notice that it was closed. I ran through the glass and fell on the ground. I was lucky that I didn't cut my face, but there were four deep cuts in my left leg. My parents called the hospital and the doctors took me to the emergency room. I had to have about a hundred stitches. I couldn't walk at all for more than a month. I think it was the scariest thing that ever happened to me!

Next time, always simplify and rather than writing first in English and trying to translate, try just the French using the vocabulary and structure you have mastered in class.
