Poseidon is the Greek god of the sea. He is on of the three major gods, Zeus,Hades (his brothers) his latin name is Neptune and he was also the god of horses and earthquakes. In a fight for athens against Athena hence athens Poseidon created the horse for the people and Athena created the Olive tree. The people liked the olive tree better and named the city athens.
