 Introduction to the Program
	This grant proposal seeks to obtain $25,000 to fund a necessary, and groundbreaking, one-year residential methadone program in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Recovery Through Medication (RTM), is a privately owned not-for-profit, organization that specializes in the long-term residential treatment of substance abusers, particularly those addicted to heroin. RTM which started their first program in 2005, presently runs four successful programs for recovering poly-substance abusing, heroin addicts. Recovery Through Medication is devoted to enriching the lives of the women and men who participate in their programs.  Within one year RTM has had success  program’s goal is to improve the lives of young women by providing a safe environment, free of the temptations and pressures of the outside world. This program, specifically aimed at women with children suffering from heroin addiction. This program’s intention is to keep women and their children together, while offering medication coupled with addiction and psychological treatment. In addition, participation in job training, educational programs and therapy is mandatory. Many women find it difficult to leave their children to enter long-term treatment programs and others do not have friends or relatives, willing to take care of their children for such an extended length of time.

RTM delivers their services in such a way that it respects all residents and acknowledges their wish to recover from this disease.

Goals and Objective of this Program
	The major goal of Stepping Forward is to keep single mothers and their children together while the women work to attain an illegal substance free existence in an attempt to improve the lives of both mother and child. Other goals include  	
	The objectives of this program are to help women with children attain a safe, illegal substance free; way of life with medication, group and private counseling, employment training, and parenting classes in a residential environment is the objective of instituting this new program.
