I just want to make sure im right. Find the derivative if y= arcsec(x+3).

I got
1
=======================
|x+3|sqrt(x+3)^(2)-1

Is this the final answer or do you need to solve (x+3)^2 and get (x^(2) + 9x + 9)

1 answer

The answer is
1
--------------------
(x+3)sqrt[(x+3)^2 -1]

Your answer should not have absolute value | | symbols around x+3, and needs brackets around (x+3)^2 -1, to show that you take the square root of everything in brackets.
