Let me tell you the truth, now, at the beginning of your studying the Preterit. "The Preterit is the most difficult tense of all the Spanish tenses! Just take it a little bit at a time. In the first post I saw, which was your latest, I explained about the stem-changes (or not) in the Preterit, as far as you have gone so far. And, you have just begun!
1. el doctor me preguntó (HE asked & I did not ask myself)....no me sentí bien. You don' t want a strong first vowel (sien) when the 2nd vowel is the one that must be heard (because of the accent mark = tí)
2. good!
3. go back to the infinitive. "duele" comes from the infinitive "doler" so the verb form in the Preterit is "dolió"
4. Same thing for #4 as for #3.
I can give you a more thorough explanation in the Preterit, if you would like, from a review sheet I did for my students a long time ago. You only have to ask.
