I am supposed to design a simple lever that could be raised and lowered smoothly using nitinol wires. Can anyone give me any ideas about that coz I don't know how to start with it. I think that it is related to nitinol wires' memory but I had no ideas about that. Thanks in advance for giving me any ideas.

Set up a 2nd class lever (Fulcrum at one end, Effort at the other end and Load in the middle. Pull the effort end using a fixed pulley with the nitinol wire replacing the string. If the nitinol wire gets kinky, try heating or cooling it and observe what happens. Not sure if your rules allow the use of a pulley with the lever. If not, hang the fulcrum end using the nitinol wire. I can't visualize constructing a lever out of nitinol because you need a bar which I doubt is available. These are just some ideas. Testing them is your job.
