I am stuck this is how far I have gotten

How far have you gotten? Copying and pasting the equations to solve? That's not too far.

to solve polynomials, set everything on one side equal to zero:

x^2 + 6x + 1 = 0
try using the quadratic formula for this one.

For the 2nd one, since you have basically,

a^2 = b^2, just take the square roots:

b/2 = 6/2
or
b/2 = -(6/2)
