I am so confused about this. Example: Martin y Jose ven el programa en la television. I am supposed to substitute el programa with lo,los, la, las, le, or les.

You are working with direct-object pronouns when you need to choose between:
lo (masculine singular), la (feminine singular), los (masculine/or masculine and feminine plural), las (feminine plural.)
el libro - lo (the book - it)
la casa = la (the house = it)
los chicos = los (the boys = them)
las chicas = las (the girls = them)
The direct objects can replace people or things.

Now you are working with indirect-object pronouns when you choose between le (to him, her, it you (formal) and often something is added so you know which is the best English = a él, a ella, a usted
les (to them, to you-all) adding, if you wish, a ellos/a ellas, a ustedes
With the indirect object pronoun these words are either added or understood = to, for, at, from

In the example you have there is only a direct-object = "el programa" and because it is masculine singular, it can only be replaced with "lo" so the sentence is now:
Martín y José (Ellos) lo ven (they see it) en la televisión.

Please learn to put the accent marks where they belong. If you don't know how to do that, I need to know 2 things:
a) do you have PC or Mac and b) do you have Windows or not.

Feel free to ask any questions if you don't understand what is above. If you DO understand, try the rest of the exercise, post it here and I'll be happy to correct it, if necessary, with an explanation.

Sra
